Research theme: 

The main fields of interests are serious games and gamification as well as user centred design, particularly targeting the health care sector. Have the last years been doing research on exergames for elderly. The interest also covers welfare technology in a broader scope 

CV: 

Cand.real (M.Sc) 1985 at the University of Tromsø in Computer Science (Thesis on "Scaling of Raster Images").

Has been a researcher at Norut since 1988 and project manager since 1989. Now the main focus is on eHealth and welfare technology with a special interest in serious games, exergames, user centred design and motivation.

Experience: X.400, X.500, user interface, information modelling, DS/TTP, EDI/EDIFACT, electronic commerce, cartographic systems, networks, broadband communication and applications. The last 10 years the focus has been on serious games ranging for language learning for children to exergames for seniors.Teaching computer science at the University of Tromsø.

Participated for many years in international standardisation of EDI in the health care sector, and was a member of CEN TC/251 (health) PT004 (investigation of syntaxes for Existing interchange formats used in Healthcare), CEN TC/251 PT023 (Messages for registration and identification) and EMEDI (European medical EDI), a group that developed the first medical EDIFACT messages.

1985-88: Systems consultant at Igloo Publishing Software A.S. Responsible for documentation and courses.
