We are looking for a PhD candidate within advanced peptide synthesis and structure elucidation.

Norut - Northern Research Institute ( is a Norwegian research institute with a multidisciplinary approach to technology and social sciences. Norut currently has 130 employees.

Norut Tromsø is located in Tromsø Science Park. Biotechnology is the latest addition to Noruts research groups, and has its main focus on organic synthesis, peptide synthesis and analytical chemistry. Through the newly established Barents BioCentre Lab the group has access to state-of-the-art instrumentation within these fields. (

The Biotechnology group is seeking to increase its activities, and accordingly we are looking for a PhD candidate within advanced peptide synthesis and structure elucidation.

The PhD candidate will work within the research project “Development of unique competence in peptide synthesis and structure elucidation”. The PhD candidate will be admitted to the PhD-program and take relevant courses at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway (

You should have a Masters degree in chemistry (or equivalent), and a background within peptide synthesis, liquid chromatography and/or mass spectrometry will be favourable. Working language will be Norwegian and English, and you should both speak and write English fluently.
