Norut is a research institute characterised by a multi-disciplinary approach spanning the social sciences and technology.
Norut carries out contract research for industry, the business sector and public sector authorities.
Examples of our Norwegian clients include the Research Council of Norway, the Norwegian Space Centre, the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities (KS) and county councils.
Our international clients include the EU Research Programmes, the European Space Agency, Inter-regional programmes (Interreg) and oil companies.

Norut is one of four companies in the Norut Group, and the company attends to the group functions. The majority share-holder of Norut is UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

An increasing number of research assignments from business and public administration result from the growing demand and complexity of requirements.
The particular assets of Norut are related to the expedient and future-oriented organisation of the institute so as to be able to meet these demands. Researchers are associated with the particular research group encompassing their special field, but they also cooperate within a multidisciplinary environment where skills in the social sciences and technology are contained under a single roof.
